J. Richard Hackman
J. Richard Hackman is the Edgar Pierce Professor of Social and Organizational Psychology at Harvard University. He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from MacMurray College and his Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Illinois. His research interests include team dynamics, leadership effectiveness, and the design of self-managing social systems. He is the author of Leading Teams: Setting the Stage for Great Performances.

His most recent book, Predictable Surprises, co-authored with Max H. Bazerman, examines examples of business failures that could have been avoided through effective management of predictable risks. Mr. Watkins is the founder of Genesis Advisers, a leadership-strategy consultancy. Mr. Watkins was formerly an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, where he conducted research on leadership and negotiation.

Allan R. Cohen is the Edward A. Madden Distinguished Professor of Global Leadership and Director of Corporate Entrepreneurship at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Dr. Cohen holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and is co-author of the best selling books Influence Without Authority and Managing for Excellence, published by John Wiley & Sons. Dr. Cohen has consulted for some of the world’s largest companies, including General Electric, Reebok, IBM, Pfizer, and Home Depot.
