Peter McAteer, Vice President & Managing Director of Corporate Learning
Peter McAteer is responsible for expanding the reach and impact of Harvard Business Publishing's Corporate Learning solutions. Prior to joining HBSP in 2006, Mr. McAteer was Chief Learning Officer and Director of the Learning Resources Center for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), directing global learning services for 30 service lines in 169 countries.

Before UNDP, McAteer was Vice President of Giga Information Group in Cambridge, MA; Vice President of Leadership, Learning, & Organizational Development at Fidelity Investments in Boston; and Director of Consulting Services at Development Systems, Inc. He has served as adjunct faculty in human resource management at Columbia University’s Graduate School of International and Public Affairs, and been a guest lecturer at various business schools in North America and Europe.

He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Rutgers University, and has written commentary and articles for numerous publications including the European Business Forum, Harvard Business Review, Directors and Boards, and Training and Development Magazine.

Ian Fanton, Vice President International Sales
As Vice President of International Sales at Harvard Business Publishing, Ian Fanton is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the corporate and higher education channels. Ian joined Harvard Business Online at its inception in 1992, and has helped to make Harvard Business Publishing a dominant player in the corporate online learning space.

With more than 15 years’ experience in the corporate learning and education market, he works directly with key customers to identify new content and products. His forward thinking has extended the reach of Harvard Business Publishing's online learning programs through more than 25 strategic partnerships.

Under his direction, Harvard Business Publishing is now being distributed in more than 25 countries. Previously, Fanton worked in Executive/Corporate Education for Boston University. He has also held sales and marketing positions with Linkage, Inc. and The Boston Red Sox. He holds an MBA from Boston University’s School of Management.

Eric Mankin, Senior Director, Implementation Services
Eric is the Senior Director of Professional Services for Corporate Learning. He is responsible for the company’s offerings in learning networks, learning services, and technology innovation.

For over twenty years, Eric has delivered professional services to large corporations, both as a management consultant and an executive educator. He’s worked at firms like Bain & Company and Analysis Group, as well as at educational institutions like Babson College, MIT, and Harvard. In addition to his responsibilities at Harvard Business Publishing, Eric is also a visiting scholar at MIT’s Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship.

Eric is trained as an economist, with an undergraduate degree (summa cum laude) from Yale, a PhD in Business Economics from Harvard University and an MBA (with high distinction) from Harvard Business School.

Matt Kenslea, Director of Corporate Sales
Matt Kenslea is Director of Corporate Sales at Harvard Business Publishing, and during his tenure has led double-digit sales growth each year. He has extensive sales and management experience in eLearning and technology. As one of the first employees at Course Technology, a start-up digital textbook publisher, he helped grow the firm to $80 million, and led a sales force of 60.

He has worked with several start-up companies; and spent three years in sales for the digital book collection at Thomson Gale. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in special education from Fitchburg State College.

Ellen Slaby, Director of Marketing
With over 20 years experience in marketing management, Ellen Slaby joined Harvard Business Publishing in 2008 as Director of Marketing. She is responsible for all aspects of global corporate marketing including communications, demand generation, brand planning and positioning strategy. As an expert in marketing and corporate learning solutions, Ms. Slaby also focuses on developing marketing strategies to help Harvard Business Publishing customers raise internal awareness of and participation in corporate development initiatives.

Prior to joining Harvard Business Publishing, she was Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer for Portrait Challenge; Vice President of Corporate Marketing for Saba Software; and Vice President of Marketing for Centra. In 2003, Ms. Slaby was named in the “Top 20 In-house Public Relations Professionals” by PR Week.

Sherry Heffner, Director, Design Studio
Sherry is responsible for expanding Harvard Business Publishing's portfolio of leadership development offerings and strengthening its impact for organizations worldwide. Her background in learning and development spans twelve years, with a specialized focus on designing technology-enabled leadership development solutions.

Before joining Harvard Business Publishing, she served as Senior Vice President for the Solutions Group at Vitesse Learning, where she was responsible for the performance consulting, solution architecture, and product management. She initially served as Director of Instructional Design where she pioneered the design team, methodology, and practices. Prior to Vitesse, Sherry designed multimedia-based leadership programs at The Ninth House Network.

Her entry into the instructional design field began with Accenture’s Change Management practice where she gained expertise in designing interactive learning simulations for global organizations such as GE, DuPont, Corning, Johnson & Johnson, and others. Sherry is an active member of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), the New England eLearning Association (NELA), and the Babson College Women in Business Mentoring program. She holds degrees from Penn State in Marketing and Advertising, and earned additional formal training from Northwestern University’s Institute for Learning Sciences.
